Every year around the nation the Muscular Dystrophy Association sponsors an annual event called Lock Up. Local businessmen, clubs and individuals volunteer to donate a little bit of time and effort by being "arrested".
MDA provides all the collection materials and an online web link for the volunteer to create a homepage and go out to friends, relatives and business colleagues to collect "Bail" for the Volunteer who is being arrested for "Having a Big Heart".
On January 17, a limo was sent to the home/office of the volunteers and they were presented with a "Warrant" for their arrest on a charge of "Having a Big Heart". All volunteers were taken to the Comfort Inn in Hackettstown on Route 57 where they were held for booking, photographed and turned over their bail money.
The group then gets to meet other volunteers, grab some food and drink and are chauffeured back to their place of business. It is all in good fun and for a wonderful cause.
Oak Hill Technology Consultants LLC was able to donate almost $3000 to the cause, with most of the donations coming online from friends, relatives and business colleagues of Joe McQuaid, President of Oak Hill.
Joe said, "We look forward to going to jail again next year for Jerry’s Kids."
